Bus Stop and Shelter Capital Works Programme

Bus Stop and Shelter Capital Works Programme

T² is involved with the bus stop and shelter capital works programme for Auckland Transport (AT).  During 2014 the focus was project managing the various endeavours contained in this programme — the roll out of the new southern bus network as part of the Regional Public Transport Plan 2012 (RPTP).  This has predominantly involved full route reviews to determine what upgrades and new infrastructure is required.

Completed projects include changes in Mayoral Drive outside the Central Library and Victoria Street West outside Les Mills.  The central city is a particularly challenging environment with a large number of constraints.

The Victoria Street West project was initiated by the re-routing of several western bus services which required space to terminate, lay-up and start new services.  During internal consultation with AT it was found that a new signalised crossing was proposed in the same section of  Victoria Street West.  Consequently, the opportunity arose to combine the two projects.   Read more >>
