East Coast Road Bus Priority
This project involved investigating the feasibility of installing morning and evening Bus Priority or High Vehicle Occupancy Lanes on East Coast Road, on the North Shore, between Oteha Valley Road and Rosedale Road.
Extensive surveys were conducted based on modal split including traffic volumes and turning counts, vehicle queues and travel times. SIDRA modelling was used to assess the impact of the proposed lanes on the various
intersections and concept designs prepared.
A preliminary Economic Evaluation was also conducted of the projects likely benefits and costs, and a staged approach to the implementation was recommended.
