Resource Consent Management
T² provides Council with specialist transportation support for consenting work throughout the northern and central areas. We have widened this involvement to include many former ‘North Shore City’ area projects and those in the west. From simple to complex projects, we have developed our systems to allow us to meet the demanding reporting deadlines for Council, including discussions and feedback from Auckland Transport. This level of coordination has challenged us at times, but with a focused approach this has resulted in improved communication and understanding of AT’s position in many cases, resulting in improved feedback to Council and ultimately for defined and focused condition to the Applicants.
Some of our more notable consent reviews include the Lynn Mall redevelopment (FYI, did you know that Lynn Mall is NZ’s oldest mall, established in 1963!), the continuing residential and commercial areas of Silverdale North, Glenvar Ridge Road Plan change and the proposed Albany Aquatic Centre.
Here is a snippet from the plan for Auckland in 1965 ‘a properly executed transportation system can be used to implement and stabilize land use planning and zoning and to prevent unfortunate land use developments which may result from the inability to obtain a balanced and efficient level of transportation service’ – ...still sounds like advice we would give today and shows that good planning never dates.
